Finally, gel nail polish without the UV lamp! Call me paranoid, but I have been avoiding getting a gel manicure because of the UV lamp. I know it's probably not the same as sitting in the midday sun for hours, and I know that people with darker skin tend to have a higher tolerance to UV rays, but one has to think about how these things will affect you down the road (I'm still nervous about sitting under the UV lights all day at work).
I knew UV-less gel manicures would come out sooner or later, I just had to be patient. And now Avon has such manicures in a variety of colors. I chose Very Berry since I needed a good fall/winter color and I don't have any dark colors other than Plum and Black.
The color itself is nice, but the lasting quality isn't all that great. The nail polish began to chip within a few days, and by the end of the week, most of the nail polish had peeled off. Now, maybe I did something wrong, like putting on a base coat when I shouldn't have or something, but regardless this was the experience I had.
I would recommend it for the color, but don't expect it to last as long as actual gel manis.
It's a really pretty color! I haven't tried Avon in a really long time. I love the fact that you don't have to sit under a UV Lamp. It should be MUCH better for you, but if it chips in only a few days...that's a bummer! HaHaHa Oh well! I saw another one like this but can't remember the brand (maybe Sally Hansen). I've never tried gel nail polish.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the fact that the polish didn't last long. I think Sally Hansen does have Gel Nail Polish, but the I think it's the kind that uses the UV light. Can't wait for them to come out with a non-UV gel polish, though.
