Here is a little known fact about me: I love tea sets, and I actually collect miniature tea sets, who'da thunk it! Like all little girls, I love playing dress-up in my mom's clothes and having tea parties with real friends, imaginary friends, and stuffed animals. It wasn't until my aunt bought me a 25 piece porcelain tea set when I was around 9 years old, that my true love of tea set started. The tea set was white, with pink flowers and green checked ribbons painted on it, and because it was porcelain, and not plastic like my other tea sets, it made me feel like a real little lady. This was also around the time that my parents began frequenting antique stores, which is where I first discovered miniature tea sets. As I got older, my Victorian sentiment, which has been growing in me since I was younger, made me enjoy tea sets with a whole new passion.
I have about five or six sets, ranging in themes from tea sets made like flowers to tea sets mad like teddy bears. They are all pretty small, so that the tray is about the size of the palm of your hand. Unfortunately, all of them are packed away in storage until I move into my own place and can put them out, so you just have to wait. Until then, and since I'm bored and can't think of anything else to post, here are some pictures of super cute tea sets.As you can see, miniature tea sets range widely from tradition styles to more whimsical designs.
