This is just a quick post with some old outfits I made months ago and never got around to posting. The first set is from the Rebel Girl Dress Up on Doll Divine, and the last set is a couple more of the Punk Lolita outfits I created. I really enjoyed the retro rocker look that can be created with the Rebel Girl Dress Up.

Manga Part 4
And right when you thought it was all over and everything would end happily ever after... Well, no relationship is without its problems. Here the new girl in school, Bethany, is causing some tension. To be exact, she's been slowly seducing Chad with her perfect blond hair, blue eyes, and irresistible charm (to men anyway). Nicole just caught them at the cafe together after school. Chad tries to cover himself, while Bethany uses her sweet, if not false, charm.

The Tudors
For those of you who want a break from the SL pics, and want to see more G-rated posts again, here you are! These are from the new game by Doll Divine and Azaleas Dolls based on the show "The Tudors." This is still a work in progress, but they've been nice enough to put it up anyway, instead of making us wait forever for the full version. The first few pictures were made using the version without the accessories, while the last few with jewelry and fancy headdresses were made using the most recent version. Look for more of my creations soon.
This one is meant to be a Gothic Loli style Tudor dress. |
This is a Japanese kimono inspired dress. |
I was trying to make a traditional Moscovite dress with this one. |
This is a wedding dress fit for a queen! |

Manga Part 3
Here is the latest (and possible final) installment of my manga. This particular scene takes place after the dance, where Chad and Nicole were finally able to fully realize there feelings for each other. After that, they have basically gone "official" and are a wonderfully cute couple. Enjoy!

Princess Dress Up
Sorry for the long absence, but I just discovered Second Life, and have been spending most of my time on there. In other news, Rinmaru Games has a great new Princess Dress Up game full of all kinds of nice customization and clothing choices. Here are a few of my own creations:

Pirate Girl Dress Up
I absolutely love this Pirate Girl dress up! You can create a full range of outfits, from traditional swashbuckling attire to new, fashionable creations. This game is great, not to mention it's one of the few female pirate fashion games that I have seen. My only complaints are that there could be a bit more accessories, or at least a wider variety that aren't so pirate themed, and it would be nice if the corsets and shirts allowed for more cleavage ( me and my cleavage obsession at it again, but then again who ever heard of an innocent, modest girl pirate). Here are a few of the outfits that I've made so far.
This one is meant to be a cutesy pirate princess, living in the lap of high seas luxury with all her jewelry. She's probably the daughter of the captain, which would explain her privileged status and dress. For this outfit, it would have been nice to have some frilly bows or hats to finish it up. These other two are supposed to be lady pirate captains. For the first one, I was going for an elegant-but-knows-how-to-run-a-ship-and-battle-with-the-boys-but-still-look-good sort of style, especially with the curly up-do and elegant corset and boots. The last one is a wild, reckless, riches-grabbing, love 'em and leave 'em type of girl. She's a bit more promiscuous than the others, as can be seen by her red corset and low-cut shirt, but then I guess that's just all part of the pirate's life.

Yukata Maker
This is, by far, one of the best kimono dress up games that I have found so far. The character customization is great, and the options for creating a kimono are practically endless. This game is similar to one that is on Azeala's Dolls site, and created by the same artist as the Hime dress up game, which is also about making a kimono. I like the hairstyles in that one better, but I like that the character can be customized in this one, and also the design options of the kimonos. This one is the latest one I've made so far, I'll post more as I make them. I like the off-the-shoulder style of kimono for a sexy, seductive look.

Punk Lolita Dress Up and Real Life Lolita Dresses
Here is another great game from the talented folks over at RinmaruGames. This one is a Punk Lolita dress up game. I absolutely love this one, much more so than any Gothic Lolita dress up. As usual, this game features wonderful character customization options, in addition to a variety of clothes and cute accessories. I really wish I could dress like this, but, not only do I have no idea where to buy this style of clothing where I live, but my mom would definitely kill me for wearing something like this.
Also, I found this site that sales discount Lolita dresses and accessories. I don't know how legit it is, but if you want a super kawaii dress and you have money to burn, you should get one. I'd love to buy one, but I'll have to wait until I get a steady job so I can move out of my mom's apartment, since she won't like me wearing Lolita dresses either. I really do hate that there isn't a large market for styles like this in America, since this means that you have to rely on sites that usually only have sizes that are significantly smaller than most American clothes sizes.

Manga Vol. 2
This is Part 2 of the manga storyline I created. In this part, Chad begins to become quite friendly with Nicole after they are assigned as partners for a project in their literature class. Of course Nicole had always noticed what a cutey-pie Chad was, but now they both realize that they have a lot in common. On top of this, Nicole and Ren's somewhat tenuous relationship falls apart once she realizes that he has no intentions of having a real, lasting relationship with her, although he has asked her out to the school dance. As they get to know each other, Chad asks Nicole out to the dance, and now she is faced with two choices: go with Chad and forget all about Ren, or go with Ren in an effort to hold on to the bad boy fantasy and try to patch things up with him.
*SPOILER ALERT*
She decides to go with Chad only as a friend, not as a date. For most of the dance they go their separate ways and hang out with their own friends, leaving Nicole to think that she was just being lead on again. But towards the end of the night, Chad asks her to dance with him, signaling, for both of them, the beginning of their relationship as more than just friends.

It was spring and there was new life and bright colors all around; bright greens, yellows, pinks, oranges. The flowers were creating a rainbow ballroom of there own in the garden, so why not have a ballroom full of pretty young girls with the fresh glow of spring on their cheeks. This is exactly what Lord Arlington thought of as he sent off the invitations to his ball. But this ball was not so much for his benefit, although some of the girls that frequented his balls were quite pretty, as for his young son...
As this ball was to take place in the highlands, it would be disastrous to wear anything too fancy, what with the muddy roads, the dirt paths, and simply the length of the journey to and from Lord Arlington's castle. She decided to dress simply for the journey, naturally, but also for the ball. She chose a dark green dress made of crushed velvet with gathers at the bottom which made an slight swish that followed the suggestive, sultry swing of her hips as she walked. The top of the dress was made of the same material, with the sleeves ending just above her elbow with gathers similar to the bottom of the dress, which rustled ever so slightly with the lightest movement of her soft, supple arms. The neckline, which was low enough to show a brief preview of her chest and cleavage without giving away the whole view and rested almost precariously on her shoulders, was trimmed with light green ruffles. To match this trim there was a small, silk rose attached to the front of her dress, and a silk belt with a gold buckle around her waist, both of the same color as the trim at her neckline. The last addition to her outfit was a small, dark green hat decorated with white feathers and green flowers, to which were attached several strings of pearls that created a lattice work on her thick, soft curls. On her neck she chose to wear a pearl necklace with an emerald attached, along with emerald, teardrop shaped earrings. Yes, she knew that the best way to impress was through simple elegance, not mere flamboyance.

The slight spring breeze made the leaves of the over-hanging branch dance lightly. The shadows played and tossed on the open book that lay on her lap, on the soft folds of the light pink fabric that made up the lower part of her dress, as she sat on the stone bench at the end of the garden The air was clear and the sky was a light blue, dotted by only the occasional cloud. With the light sounds of nature surrounding her, the distant and cheerful chirping of birds, the gentle rustle of leaves in the slight, cool breezes, she found herself engrossed in her book, a romance novel. She never heard his footsteps, and never even noticed his presence until she saw his shadow come across the pages of her book. When she looked up she, her eyes were greeted by his beaming face, he had found her in the maze of the garden, like a knight coming to rescue his lady-love from the perils of a labyrinth.
This was the first thing that came to mind when I looked at the outfit I had made about a month ago again. I absolutely hate sappiness, but for some reason all I can ever write is romance stories. Maybe I eat too much chocolate or something, or maybe I'm really just a hopeless romantic at heart. Who knows?

Manga
I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the usual theme of this blog, but I think I've come up with an idea for a manga plot using the Manga Creators from Rinmaru Games. Even though I not really all that into manga, or even anime for that matter, this plot I've come up with could give me the chance to do some creative writing. So far the main characters are Nicole, Ren, and Chad Devereaux. All of the characters are students at Highpoint Preparatory School, a very prestigious school, and very hard to get into. Nicole and Ren are there through scholarships, while Chad comes from a very wealthy family with an aristocratic background, so he had no problem getting into Highpoint. Nicole is based off of myself, and Ren is loosely based off of Reno from the Final Fantasy VII series of games. Chad, who you will meet in later in the story, is based off of my ideal type(I can't help it if I have a weakness for rich, preppy boys with blue eyes and dark hair.)
In the first volume of the manga, Nicole, a very intelligent, girl falls for Ren, who is the tough, bad-boy on campus (the way we women usually do). Nicole is definitely intrigued by him, and he's smart enough to get into Highpoint, but lazy and gets into trouble, so he quickly earns himself a not too good reputation. Flash forward a few pages later, and Ren finally asked Nicole to go out with him, which is the beginning of their relationship. This is about as far as I've gotten with the plot, but this is all thanks to the Manga Creator, so I encourage any interested to check it out and see what kinds of story you can come up with.

I really wish I knew how to draw people and clothing really well, so I could design my own outfits. Until then there are still some really good historical dress up games. This one is a Gothic Lolita Dress Up. Yeah I know Gothic Lolita isn't really historical clothing, but it is based on Victorian era clothing, and this is the closest thing to Victorian clothes I could find that still had great graphics, easy to use interface, and a lot of character customization options. I really don't have any kind of story for this outfit, I just wanted to create something quick and simple, but at the same time a little revealing enough to show the choker and bracelets. I choose the background because it looks like a hall of a manor house, implying that the girl is well off.

Historical Games
It would be really nice if there was some kind of historical Sims-like game out. One that looked maybe like Sword of the New World but one where you can play in different time periods and be able to control and customize your character like the Sims games. Of course this game should be more historically accurate and realistic that SOTNW, but still with the same amount of creativity as far as characters and clothes are concerned. Ideas like this make me wish I had some input in game development though. I've been playing Uncharted Waters Online. IMO it's better than SOTNW, but the sailing parts it can get a bit dull, and some of the quests require a lot of time and traveling. Character customization is pretty good though, much better than the stock characters of SOTNW. I've tried playing Voyage Century, but the tutorial was practically non-existent, and the game play wasn't very exciting (when you start you have to kill crabs on the beach in order to get gold). So far the best history game I've ever played was the Age of Empires series, especially AoE III. I was literally addicted to this game until college cured my of my hard core gaming habits, that and the fact the Microsoft shutdown Ensemble Studios, the creators of the game. Still haven't tried to play any of the Civilization games, since I just feel that they are just copying AoE (I'm pretty sure AoE was the first RTS game out there). Railroad Tycoon is pretty good too, although there are no characters involved, just building railroads. Sid Meier's Railroads is pretty good too; the graphics are nice and the trains look very realistic. However, the game play is not quite as good as the RT series.

Welcome!!
So I created this blog in order to indulge my interest in and longing to be a part of a by-gone era. A lot of my nostalgia for historical time periods is fueled by my majoring in European History when I was in college. I have always loved the 18th century French aristocracy style of clothing, along with the more structured styles of the Victorian era, although my main focus of study in college was 19th century Russian history.
Everything was so stylish in this period, at a time when the aristocratic flair was what made a person in society, especially women (that and how many lovers you had). I guess my real appeal for the past was the important role of clothing as a status symbol, whereas now it's so easy to get knock-offs of expensive brands, or even the real thing at consignment shops or online bargains. Well unless someone figures out how to build a time machine and I can instate myself into the aristocracy, I guess it's just champagne dreams and caviar wishes!
